Maintaining your Mercy Firearms Pluto Silencer is effortless and straightforward, ensuring your silencer remains in top condition for optimal performance. We have tested the silencer and extensively, but cleaning your silencer may be performed after approximately 5,000 rounds. Here’s how to keep your silencer functioning at its best:
Cleaning Steps:
Ultrasonic Bath: Place the entire silencer into an ultrasonic cleaner for 30 minutes. This process effectively loosens and removes any residues and buildup. We use Simple Green Extreme mixed 13:1 with tap water. (SG Extreme is always recommended on firearms, rather than regular Simple Green, due to the corrosive nature of regular Simple Green.)
Rinse Thoroughly: After the ultrasonic bath, rinse the silencer thoroughly with water to wash away any remaining particles and cleaning solution. Rinse from both sides of the silencer for 30 seconds each.
Drying: To dry, you have two convenient options:
1. Oven Drying: Place the silencer in an oven at 175ºF for 30 minutes.
2. Air Drying: Alternatively, you can simply air dry it until all the water has evaporated, usually 24 hours in a dry area.
